Tenex Tenotomy
What is Tenex Tenotomy?
Tenex Tenotomy uses minimally invasive technology to eliminate your chronic tendon pain by specifically targeting and removing damaged tissue without the need for conventional surgery. This procedure was developed in collaboration with the Mayo Clinic and studies have proven that when Tenex is used to treat tendonitis, patients exhibit an increase in overall functionality and a significant decrease in pain. Tenex’s patented technology removes the patient’s source of pain and helps stimulate a renewed healing response.
Using Tenex to treat injuries is a non-surgical, minimally invasive orthopedic procedure that is an excellent choice for athletes or anyone that would like to restore their mobility and get relief from their pain. Tenex Tenotomy is able to treat tendonitis in the following areas:
- Elbow
- Hip
- Knee
- Ankle
- Plantar fasciitis
How Tenex Tenotomy Heals Tendonitis Pain
During the Tenex Tenotomy procedure, Dr. Shiple will use ultrasound imaging to view and identify the location of your damaged tendon. After this, Dr. Shiple will numb this area with a local anesthetic and gently apply Tenex’s ultrasonic tool, which will break down and remove all damaged tissue. The incision required for this procedure is minimally invasive and the ultrasonic energy used is very precise, treating only the damaged tendon tissue so all healthy tissue is unharmed. Tenex does not require stitches. Dr. Shiple will simply apply a small bandage following the procedure. You will also be able to go home immediately after the procedure is completed. Some patients have recovered in as little as 3-6 weeks.
